She also is a co-founder of Folio Financial, Inc., and had her own consulting firm specializing in technology, media and telecommunications. Wallman is a graduate of the Catholic University of America, B.A., summa cum laude, Phi Beta Kappa, the Georgetown University Law Center, J.D. magna cum laude, and the Walsh School of Foreign Service, Georgetown University, M.S. in Foreign Service, with honors.

She is the author of the novel The Gossip Boats and numerous scholarly publications on digital commerce and telecommunications policy.

Kathleen Wallman is a lawyer, writer and entrepreneur, and a fighter in the campaign against appendiceal cancer.

She was a partner in the law firm Arnold & Porter and served in numerous roles in government, including in the White House during the Presidency of Bill Clinton as Deputy Assistant to the President for Economic Policy and as Deputy Counsel to the President, and at the Federal Communications Commission as Chief of the Common Carrier Bureau and Deputy Chief of the Cable Services Bureau.
